… An eye-opening poll found that a shocking percentage of Americans are in favor of the dissolution of the United States. According to a new Bright Line Watch survey, nearly a third of Americans want to break up the United States and create smaller, like-minded countries … The survey found that 29% (10% strongly, 19% somewhat) of Americans were in favor of the dissolution of the United States into like-minded regions. There were noticeable differences based on political party lines and geography. Surprisingly, 37% of independents were most inclined for the country to go its separate ways. There were 35% of Republicans who wanted to secede …

Looking to the Future, Public Sees an America in Decline on Many Fronts
Pew Research Center
When Americans peer 30 years into the future, they see a country in decline economically, politically and on the world stage. While a narrow majority of the public (56%) say they are at least somewhat optimistic about America’s future, hope gives way to doubt when the focus turns to specific issues. A new Pew Research Center survey [March 2019] focused on what Americans think the United States will be like in 2050 finds that majorities of Americans foresee a country with a burgeoning national debt, a wider gap between the rich and the poor, and a workforce threatened by automation. Majorities predict that the economy will be weaker, health care will be less affordable, the condition of the environment will be worse and older Americans will have a harder time making ends meet than they do now.

A prominent right-wing lawmaker in the Netherlands has provoked outrage by saying that the trials against Nazis in Nuremberg, Germany, were “illegitimate.” Thierry Baudet, leader of the right-wing Forum for Democracy party, which has two seats in the Dutch parliament, made the statement on Monday during a rally in Gouda, near Amsterdam, ahead of next month’s general elections. “I’m no supporter of retroactive punitive legal action,” Baudet said in replying to a question on whether he supports prosecuting the mayor of Amsterdam for perceived police brutality. “I consider the Nuremberg trials as illegitimate. You shouldn’t retroactively judge people.” Political rivals and CIDI, Dutch Jewry’s watchdog on anti-Semitism, said Baudet’s remark was “shocking.”

Nuremberg: The Last Battle
David Irving – Hardcover book available from IHR
A prominent, controversial British scholar of World War II and Third Reich history takes aim at the “Trial of Century” — the Nuremberg Tribunal of 1945-46. This handsome hardcover masterpiece has a full color dust jacket and more than 70 photographs, many in color, as well as source notes and index. A stunning masterwork of startling facts and myth-busting perspective — packed with revelations from long-suppressed private diaries and letters of judges, prosecutors, defendants and witnesses. Establishes that the Allies who sat in judgment were themselves guilty of many of the crimes for which the German defendants were tried and hanged. Exposes the Tribunal’s double standard, with the Allies acting as judge, prosecution, jury and executioner.

'Proud' Zionist Group Leading Campaign to Sack UK Professor for Criticising Israel
Middle East Monitor
In another example pointing to the dangerous rise of cancel-culture and the abuse of allegations of anti-Semitism within anti-Palestinian groups, “Israel’s fanatical advocates” are demanding the expulsion of prominent British Professor, David Miller, from his post over his remarks about Zionism at a virtual meeting last week … During the zoom meeting, the sociology professor, considered one of the world’s leading experts on Islamophobia, denounced the state ideology of Israel as racist and called for an end to Zionism as a “functioning ideology of the world”. He also blasted a number of pro-Israel groups who for a number of years have been leading a hostile campaign to have him sacked from his post at the University of Bristol. One such pro-Israeli lobby group is the Union of Jewish Students (UJS).

NBC Pulls Episode of ‘Nurses’ With Unflattering Portrayal of Orthodox Jews
The Times of Israel / JTA
NBC has pulled an episode of its Canadian drama “Nurses” amid an outcry over an offensive portrayal of Orthodox Jews, the Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday. The indignation was set off by an objectionable storyline in the hour-long drama, which follows a group of nurses in a Toronto hospital. In the episode, a young Hasidic patient is told he will need a bone graft to heal his broken leg, leading his devout father to recoil at the possibility of a “dead goyim leg from anyone. An Arab, a woman.” … Jewish organizing groups such as StopAntisemitism and JewishOnCampus had tried to mobilize online pressure campaigns against NBC for airing the episode … The Anti-Defamation League called for NBC to pull the episode and “review their standards for approving dramatic content so that this doesn’t happen in the future.”

Reuters and BBC Participated in Covert UK Foreign Office-Funded Programs to 'Weaken Russia,' Leaked Documents Reveal
Max Blumenthal
New leaked documents show Reuters’ and the BBC’s involvement in covert UK FCO programs to effect “attitudinal change” and “weaken the Russian state’s influence,” alongside intel contractors and Bellingcat. The U.K. Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) have sponsored Reuters and the BBC to conduct a series of covert programs aimed at promoting regime change inside Russia and undermining its government across Eastern Europe and Central Asia, according to a series of leaked documents … The new leaks illustrate in alarming detail how Reuters and the BBC – two of the largest and most distinguished news organizations in the world – attempted to answer the British foreign ministry’s call for help in improving its “ability to respond and to promote our message across Russia,” and to “counter the Russian government’s narrative.”

San Francisco has made a stunning about-face, walking back a controversial decision to scrub 44 “racist” names from its schools – including George Washington and Abraham Lincoln — after the move drew nationwide ire and was criticized for being based on flawed information without insight from historians. “I acknowledge and take responsibility that mistakes were made in the renaming process,” the president of San Francisco’s School Board Gabriela López wrote on Twitter Sunday … In late January, the school board voted 6-1 to rename schools honoring “racist” historical figures like George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln and Paul Revere and replace them with people who didn’t aid or abet slavery, genocide or human rights abuses. The move was widely criticized as a symptom of cancel culture …

Public education in the United States, if measured by results, has been producing graduates that are less competent in language skills and dramatically less well taught in the sciences and mathematics since 1964, when Scholastic Aptitude Test scores peaked. The decline in science and math skills has accelerated in the past decade according to rankings of American students compared to their peers overseas … National test scores for evaluating possible college entry are on the way out almost everywhere as they are increasingly being condemned as “racist” in terms of how they assess learning based solely on the fact that blacks do less well on them than Asians and whites. This has all been part of an agenda that is being pushed that will search for and eliminate any taint of racism in the public space.

The Relentless Cult of Novelty
Alexandr Solzhenitsyn
… This relentless cult of novelty, with its assertion that art need not be good or pure, just so long as it is new, newer, and newer still, conceals an unyielding and long-sustained attempt to undermine, ridicule and uproot all moral precepts … To decorate public spaces we put up sculptures that aestheticize pure ugliness — but we no longer register surprise. And if visitors from outer space were to pick up our music over the airwaves, how could they ever guess that earthlings once had a Bach, a Beethoven and a Schubert, now abandoned as out of date and obsolete?

Is Biden Committing Diplomatic Suicide Over the Iran Nuclear Agreement?
Medea Benjamin and Nicolas J. S. Davies
… In a more rational world, the call for nuclear disarmament in the Middle East would focus on Israel, not Iran. As Archbishop Desmond Tutu wrote in the Guardian on December 31, 2020, Israel’s own possession of dozens – or maybe hundreds – of nuclear weapons is the worst kept secret in the world … Instead of tackling the danger of Israel’s real nuclear weapons, successive U.S. administrations have chosen to cry “Wolf!” over non-existent nuclear weapons in Iraq and Iran to justify besieging their governments, imposing deadly sanctions on their people, invading Iraq and threatening Iran. A skeptical world is watching to see whether President Biden has the integrity and political will to break this insidious pattern.

China is now the EU’s biggest trading partner, overtaking the US in 2020. China bucked a wider trend, as trade with most of Europe’s major partners dipped due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Trade between China and the European Union was worth $709 billion (€586 billion) last year, compared with $671 billion worth of imports and exports from the US. Although China’s economy cratered in the first quarter due to the pandemic, its economic recovery later in the year fuelled demand for EU goods. China was the only major global economy to see growth in 2020, stoking demand for European cars and luxury goods. Meanwhile, China’s exports to Europe benefited from strong demand for medical equipment and electronics.

Caltech is Removing the Name of Its Founding President From Campus Buildings Because of His Support of Eugenics
American School & University
Caltech – the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, Calif. – says it is removing the name of its founding president and first Nobel laureate, Robert A. Millikan, from campus buildings, assets, and honors because of his embrace of the eugenics movement in the 1920s. Caltech president Thomas F. Rosenbaum said the university was acting on unanimous recommendations from its Committee on Naming and Recognition … The university also has approved the removal of the names of Harry Chandler, Ezra S. Gosney, William B. Munro, Henry M. Robinson, and Albert B. Ruddock from campus assets and honors … [They] were successful professionals, civic leaders, and philanthropists, and also prominent members of society, who lent their stature and names to the furtherance of racist and discriminatory practices.

Creating a White America: Benjamin Franklin’s Observations Concerning the Increase of Mankind
Todd Burst
… Franklin’s study of populations reflects a trans-Atlantic interest in the study of populations for reasons of state … Franklin’s essay [“Observations Concerning the Increase of Mankind” (1751)] can be seen as a form of bio-power on a large scale, as he wanted populations to be controlled so that only whites inhabited America. At the end of the essay, Franklin tells readers who should inhabit America: “the number of purely white people in the world is proportionably very small … I could wish their numbers were increased … Why increase the sons of Africa, by planting them in America, where we have so fair an opportunity, by excluding all blacks and tawneys, of increasing the lovely white and red? But perhaps I am partial to the complexion of my Country, for such kind of partiality is natural to Mankind.”

The Strange Life of Ilya Ehrenburg
Mark Weber
Ilya Ehrenburg, the leading Soviet propagandist of the Second World War, was a contradictory figure… During the War, he was a leading member of the Soviet-sponsored Jewish Anti-Fascist Committee … Ehrenburg’s incendiary writings certainly contributed in no small measure to the orgy of murder and rape by Soviet soldiers against German civilians … This new revelation about one of the most influential figures of the Stalinist regime shows that, whatever he may have said for public consumption, Ehrenburg never privately disavowed Zionism or forgot his ancestry.

Is Biden Prepared to Lose Afghanistan?
Patrick J. Buchanan
… Our national debt is larger than our national economy. We are running deficits unseen since the late days of World War II. Our economy has sustained crippling blows from a year-long COVID-19 pandemic that has taken the lives of half a million Americans. A migrant invasion appears to be shaping up on our 2,000-mile Southern border. Our country is as divided as it has been since the Civil War. And we seek to remain the nation that writes the rules for the world order in the 21st century. Something’s gotta give.

A 95-year-old former World War II concentration camp guard was deported to Germany on Saturday, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced. Friedrich Karl Berger was deported after U.S. authorities determined he served in the Neuengamme concentration camp system … Berger, a German citizen, had been living in Tennessee … This case exemplifies efforts by ICE and the Justice Department “to pursue justice and to hunt relentlessly for those who participated in one of history’s greatest atrocities, no matter how long it takes,” he said. An appeals board in November upheld a decision that Berger could be sent back to his home country under the 1978 Holtzman Amendment to the Immigration and Nationality Act. That amendment allows for the deportation of anyone who participated in any act of Nazi persecution or genocide.

Pforzheim: The Dresden Nobody Knows About
Deutsche Welle (Germany)
… Between 7:50 and 8:12 p.m. local time on February 23, 1945, RAF aircraft dropped 1575 tons of high explosive and incendiary bombs on Pforzheim, setting off a firestorm that is widely seen as one of the most devastating in military history. According to official statistics, 17,600 people died, and tens of thousands of others were injured. The market square and old town area were destroyed and completely depopulated. In the entire city, over 80 percent of the architecture that existed in 1945 was defaced, making Pforzheim, proportionally speaking, the worst instance of destruction at the end of WWII. The Allied bombardments of Dresden and Hamburg have been well documented and remain in the public consciousness today, both in Germany and abroad. But Pforzheim doesn’t.

Latvia on Thursday said it would ban entry to a Russian TV host after he called Hitler a “very brave man” while disparaging Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny. “The glorification of Nazism in any form is unacceptable to Latvia,” Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics wrote on Twitter. Vladimir Solovyov, known as a Kremlin propagandist, is on a list of 35 people whom Navalny’s team has urged the European Union to sanction. Hitler “was personally a very brave man”, Solovyov could be heard saying in a live broadcast. “Unlike this codpiece Fuhrer [Navalny], he [Hitler] did not get out of army service. He fought honorably in the First World War,” Solovyov said.

When a British Prime Minister Praised Hitler as 'Greatest Living German'
Daily Mail (Britain)
This remarkable footage captures the day David Lloyd George cosied up to Hitler during a pre-war trip to Germany before hailing him as ‘the greatest living German’. The grainy black and white film shows the politician and his entourage travelling around Germany in 1936, where they dined with the Nazi ruler and rode together on new autobahns … Following the visit, Lloyd George described Hitler as a ‘remarkable personality’ and lauded him as ‘one of the greatest I have ever met in the whole of my life’. Hitler added that he was pleased to have met ‘the man who won the war’, prompting Lloyd George to call Hitler ‘the greatest living German’.

The Guardian Revealed Its True Face in Sacking a Columnist for Criticizing US Military Aid to Israel
Jonathan Cook
The revelation that a leftwing journalist, Nathan J Robinson, has been sacked as a Guardian US columnist for criticising Israel on Twitter – and that he was pressured to keep quiet about it by Guardian editors – should come as no surprise. He is only the latest in a long line of journalists, myself included, who have run foul of the Guardian’s unwritten but tightly policed constraints on what can be said about Israel … The other reason why the Guardian looks so good on Israel and Palestine is that the rest of the corporate media is far, far worse. The bar is so low that the Guardian has to do very little to impress … A culture of critical but unerring support for Israel was always the Guardian’s default position.

Last week’s second impeachment trial of former President Trump should serve as a warning that something is very wrong in US politics. Far from a measured, well-investigated, rock-solid case against the former president, America was again abused with day after day of character assassination, innuendo, false claims, and even falsified “evidence.” … There were a number of reasons to impeach and convict President Trump while he was in office. Bombing Syria on bogus grounds without authorization was one of them. But Democrats love war as much as Republicans so they weren’t about to uphold their Constitutional obligations.

… The problem is not just the willingness of American policymakers to go to war for no good reason, which is why “endless wars” entered the political lexicon. It is officials’ willingness to risk war without thinking. Especially by expanding military alliances. … The greatest allied mistake at the end of the Cold War was violating the promise to Moscow that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization would not advance – expanding to just 100 miles from St. Petersburg, Russia. Of late NATO expansion has become a joke, an automatic exercise without security purpose … Alliances are a means to an end, not an end itself … The War Party dominates Washington. The US has been the most militaristic and interventionist power since the end of the Cold War.

'Woke' Teachers Want Shakespeare Cut From Curriculum: ‘This is About White Supremacy’
The Washington Times
The crown teachers once put on William Shakespeare now lies uneasy upon his head as the English playwright comes under assault from teachers who fault his unwoke attitudes regarding race, sexuality, gender and class. For the new breed of teachers, Shakespeare is seen less as an icon of literature and more as a tool of imperial oppression, an author who should be dissected in class or banished from the curriculum entirely. “This is about white supremacy and colonization,” declared the teachers who founded #DisruptTexts, a group that wants staples of Western literature removed or subjected to withering criticism … Shakespeare is far from the only famous author to be squeezed through the social justice cheesecloth.

An increasing number of woke teachers are refusing to study the Bard — accusing his classic works of promoting “misogyny, racism, homophobia, classism, anti-Semitism, and misogynoir.” A slew of English literature teachers told the School Library Journal (SLJ) how they were ditching the likes of “Hamlet,” “Macbeth” and “Romeo and Juliet” to instead “make room for modern, diverse, and inclusive voices.” “Shakespeare was a tool used to ‘civilize’ Black and brown people in England’s empire,” insisted Shakespeare scholar Ayanna Thompson, a professor of English at Arizona State University.

Decades After a Palestinian American Activist Was Assassinated in California, Two Suspects in His Killing Are Living Openly in I

New York City Public School Principal Calls on Parents to 'Reflect' on Their 'Whiteness'

A city public school principal is asking parents to “reflect” on their “whiteness” — passing out literature that extols “white traitors’’ who “dismantle institutions,” education officials confirmed to The Post on Tuesday. The “woke’’ offensive at the East Side Community School in Manhattan features a ranking list titled “The 8 White Identities,” which ranges from “White Supremacist’’ to “White Abolitionist.” The curriculum, written by Barnor Hesse, an associate professor of African American studies at Northwestern University in Illinois, claims, “There is a regime of whiteness, and there are action-oriented white identities. “People who identify with whiteness are one of these,’’ Hesse writes above the eight-point list.

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen goes on trial Wednesday on charges she broke hate speech laws by tweeting pictures of Islamic State atrocities, a case she has slammed as a violation of free speech. Le Pen shared the gruesome images in December 2015, a few weeks after Islamic State group jihadists killed 130 people in attacks in Paris, in response to a journalist who drew a comparison between IS and her party.

Jewish leaders in Spain are calling for an investigation after a far-right event in Madrid featured anti-Semitic speeches and a Nazi salute. British Empire Was 'Worse Than the Nazis,' Says Professor in England
Daily Mail (Britain)
A taxpayer-funded academic who described Winston Churchill as a `white supremacist’ in a debate last night was today facing questions about why he still accepts public money despite claiming modern Britain is `based on racism’. Professor Kehinde Andrews, a campaigner who is regularly wheeled out on TV debates to air his divisive views, used a debate at Churchill College Cambridge to brand the British Empire ‘far worse than the Nazis’. The professor of black studies at Birmingham City University – where senior lecturers receive an average base salary of £46,000 – has previously branded ‘whiteness’ a ‘psychosis’, called for the overthrow of ‘genocidal’ capitalism and repeatedly compared Sir Winston Churchill to Adolf Hitler.

The US-Saudi Starvation Blockade
Patrick J. Buchanan
Our aim is to “starve the whole population — men, women, and children, old and young, wounded and sound — into submission,” said First Lord of the Admiralty Winston Churchill. He was speaking of Germany at the outset of the Great War of 1914-1918. Americans denounced as inhumane this starvation blockade that would eventually take the lives of a million German civilians … After the Armistice of Nov. 11, 1918, however, the starvation blockade was not lifted until Germany capitulated to all Allied demands in the Treaty of Versailles. As late as March 1919, four months after the Germans laid down their arms, Churchill arose in Parliament to exult, “We are enforcing the blockade with rigor, and Germany is very near starvation.”

Everything People Believed About Hitler's Intentions Toward Britain Was A Myth Created By Churchill
Kevin Myers - Irish Independent (Ireland)
… An even vaster falsehood – that in 1940, Hitler wanted to invade Britain. But he didn’t. He actually admired the British Empire … We know from the diaries of Lord Halifax, the British foreign minister, that Hitler offered terms that did not involve German control of Britain. Churchill refused to allow these terms to be read to the cabinet … And far from wanting to continue the war, in June 1940 Hitler ordered 20 percent of his army to be demobilised, in order to get the German economy going again … Just about everything that people believed about Hitler’s intentions towards Britain in 1940 — and still believe today — was a myth created by Churchill, which he probably came to believe himself.

How the ADL’s Israel Advocacy Undermines Its Civil Rights Work

Over the years, I have read several tracts and articles designed to discredit the Anti-Defamation League. None was able to persuade me of the illicit nature of this organization; it took the memoir of Arnold Forster to do that.

In Bulgaria, Nationalists Honor 'Pro-Nazi' General With Flowers
Associated Press
Far-right nationalists gathered in Bulgaria’s capital Saturday to honor a late World War II general known for his anti-Semitic and pro-Nazi activities. Braving sub-zero temperatures, hundreds of dark-clad supporters of the Bulgarian National Union group flocked to a central square where they had planned to kick off the annual Lukov March, a torch-lit procession held every February to the former house of Gen. Hristo Lukov … Neo-Nazis and like-minded extremists have marched for almost two decades in honor of Lukov, who supported Germany during World War II and was killed by members of a resistance movement on Feb. 13, 1943. The general served as war minister from 1935 to 1938, and led the pro-Nazi Germany Union of Bulgarian Legions from 1932 until 1943.

Apocalypse at Dresden
R. H. S. Crossman - Esquire magazine
… The Western democracies were responsible for the most senseless single act of mass murder committed in the whole course of World War II. The devastation of Dresden in February, 1945, was one of those crimes against humanity whose authors would have been arraigned at Nuremberg if that Court had not been perverted into the instrument of Allied justice … No one knows how many women and children were actually killed by those dive-bombing attacks. But in the legend of Dresden destruction, they have become the symbol of Yankee sadism and brutality … A fire storm was deliberately created in order to kill as many people as possible, and that the survivors were machine-gunned as they lay helpless in the open — all this has been established without a shadow of a doubt.

I Survived the Bombing of Dresden and Continue to Believe it Was a War Crime
Victor Gregg – The Guardian (Britain)

The screaming of those who were being burned alive was added to the cries of those not yet hit. There was no need for flares to lead the second wave of bombers to their target, as the whole city had become a gigantic torch. It must have been visible to the pilots from a hundred miles away. Dresden had no defences, no anti-aircraft guns, no searchlights, nothing … The affair was a war crime at the highest level, a stain upon the name Englishman that only an apology made in full public view would suffice to obliterate.

In England, School Removes 'Unsuitable' Churchill and Rowling as House Names
The Independent (Britain)
A school in East Sussex is renaming two of its houses called after Winston Churchill and J K Rowling, following questions over whether these two figures “represent the school’s core values.” Seaford Head School in Seaford, East Sussex, has decided to rename the two houses after several students began to question if Mr Churchill and Ms Rowling’s values aligned with those of the school. Students at the school wrote a letter of complaint, which they sent to parents, students and guardians, explaining how they felt about the names. The letter denounced the British wartime prime minister as “a figure who promoted racism and inequality, unfairly imprisoning and torturing many.”

Dresden Was a Civilian Town With No Military Significance. Why Did We Burn Its People?
Dominic Selwood - The Telegraph (Britain)
… Supporters of Britain’s “area bombing” (targeting civilians instead of military or industrial sites) maintain that it was a vital part of the war. Churchill wrote that he wanted “absolutely devastating, exterminating attacks by very heavy bombers from this country upon the Nazi homeland”. In another letter he called it “terror bombing”. … Others maintain that it was ghastly, but Hitler started it so needed to be answered in a language he understood. Unfortunately, records show that the first intentional “area bombing” of civilians in the Second World War took place at Monchengladbach on 11 May 1940 at Churchill’s orders (the day after he dramatically became prime minister), and four months before the Luftwaffe began its Blitz of British cities.

Winston Churchill: An Unsettled Legacy
Mark Weber
The well-entrenched idealization of Churchill is part and parcel of a drastically misleading view of the Second World War that Americans have been fed for decades. One common deceit is to give the impression that Hitler sought war against Britain and France, and that Germany aggressively attacked those two countries … Churchill’s enduringly stellar image is all the more remarkable considering that his views on a range of issues were, by today’s standards, hopelessly backward and politically incorrect … Along with most Britons (and Americans) of his era, he was also an unabashed racist.

This is nonsense. This thesis can be easily reversed. The establishment historians and opinion-makers, 70 years after the war, are in need of forever renewing the fascist danger in order to cover up their own catastrophic economic failures and their own war crimes.

Oregon Promotes Teacher Program to Subtract ‘Racism in Mathematics’
Fox News / New York Post
The Oregon Department of Education (ODE) recently encouraged teachers to register for training that encourages “ethnomathematics” and argues, among other things, that White supremacy manifests itself in the focus on finding the right answer. An ODE newsletter sent last week advertises a Feb. 21 “Pathway to Math Equity Micro-Course,” which is designed for middle school teachers to make use of a toolkit for “dismantling racism in mathematics.” … Part of the toolkit includes a list of ways “white supremacy culture” allegedly “infiltrates math classrooms.” Those include “the focus is on getting the ‘right’ answer,” students being “required to ‘show their work’ … “The concept of mathematics being purely objective is unequivocally false, and teaching it is even much less so,” the document for the “Equitable Math” toolkit reads.

Southern Poverty Law Center Stops Monitoring Black Hate Groups Because of ‘Equity’
D. Greenfield - Frontpage Mag
The Southern Poverty Law Center claims it’s dedicated to fighting hate. But some things are more important than fighting hate. Like “equity”. In the name of equity, the SPLC announced that it’s shutting down its black nationalist hate groups category like the Nation of Islam. After “doing the internal work of anti-racism”, the SPLC will no longer list black racist hate groups because “the hate is not equal”. Even racism requires its own equity. The SPLC’s move dismantles the last remaining shred of credibility of the organization … Activists had targeted the SPLC because, despite its bias, untrustworthiness, and sloppiness, its listings are widely used by law enforcement and by internet platforms deciding what qualifies as a hate group.

Seven Reasons to Beware the Southern Poverty Law Center
Carol Swain - American Thinker
The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) says its primary mission is to fight hatred, teach tolerance, and seek justice. These are noble goals for most Americans, but this is not a noble organization. It is the exact opposite. Given the SPLC’s power and influence over the media and members of Congress, this once highly-regarded civil rights organization deserves fresh scrutiny. Here are seven reasons why the SPLC fails to serve the public interest: The SPLC ignores basic standards of scientific research in selecting and classifying hate groups and extremists. The SPLC’s definition of “hate” is vague … The SPLC attacks and smears mainstream public service organizations, including churches, ministries, and various pro-family entities.

Biden Must Face the Facts: Israel Is an Apartheid Regime
Mitchell Plitnick – The Nation
In a position paper released January 12, the Israeli human rights group B’Tselem broke with its own tradition and stated unambiguously that the area comprising Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza Strip is an apartheid regime of Jewish supremacy. The significance of this paper cannot be overstated. B’Tselem’s status as a leading human rights organization is unassailable … B’Tselem makes a strong case, one that will be a difficult for the Biden administration to ignore. The organization’s reputation, and its identity as an Israeli rights group, will make it more difficult for American leaders to dismiss the group’s characterization. Nonetheless, it is likely that Biden’s first inclination will be to ignore this change.

Few Americans Say US Democracy is Working Well, New Poll Shows
Associated Press
Only a fragment of Americans believe democracy is thriving in the U.S., even as broad majorities agree that representative government is one of the country’s bedrock principles, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research. Just 16% of Americans say democracy is working well or extremely well, a pessimism that spans the political spectrum. Nearly half of Americans, 45%, think democracy isn’t functioning properly, while another 38% say it’s working only somewhat well … While Americans are downbeat on the current state of democracy, they are unified that such a form of government is still the desired approach. Eighty percent say a democratically elected government is very or extremely important to the nation’s identity.

In Portland, Majority of Downtown Merchants Say City Core is Unsafe
The Oregonian / Oregon Live
The majority of downtown Portland businesses owners believe that the city’s core is no longer safe, according to a survey conducted by Downtown Portland Clean & Safe, a nonprofit and affiliate partner of the Portland Business Alliance. In a survey conducted between Nov. 15 and Dec. 31, 2020, 62 percent of downtown businesses owners said that the central city was no longer safe, a nearly threefold increase from when the survey was last conducted in 2018. The merchants surveyed also expressed increased concerns about vandalism and graffiti, a lack of cleanliness and rising homelessness in downtown … Downtown Portland business owners have been complaining for months about a sharp uptick in vandalism and other crime, often committed by people who have used protests for racial justice as a cover.

Why We Need to End the Forever Wars Now
Rand Paul, US Senator
… Yet, after almost twenty years of war we don’t have any of this in a coherent fashion. We are still no closer to victory nor do we even really have a realistic idea of what victory looks like. We haven’t been honest on the conduct of the war. We have continuously shifted our war aims. We have paid staggering opportunity costs, immeasurable amounts of treasure, and most importantly, an unimaginable number of lives … I have continuously led the fight to reassess our foreign policy, to end our “forever war,” and bring our fighting forces home. I have been and will continue to be vocal about finding a way to make this happen. And now that means reminding Mr. Blinken, and all those who he brings with him, the errors of their past ways.

What Joe Biden Can Learn From John Quincy Adams
Fiona Harrigan - The American Conservative
… Now, whether the president has an R or a D next to his name, he participates in endless wars, bombs far-off lands — looks for monsters to destroy. That approach has for far too long caused a world of hurt for U.S. troops and foreign civilians … Trump may have been the “America First” president, but Biden is set to pursue his own brand of the doctrine — one that looks less egocentric at face value but that nonetheless puts the U.S. front and center as the moral defender of the international community. It’s an approach underlined by good intentions, but it ultimately serves to blind our foreign policy decision-makers. Good intentions don’t equal good results, least of all in foreign policy. Our self-imposed mandate to lead has tied us to never-ending and morally questionable campaigns abroad …

Columnist Nathan J. Robinson has revealed that the Guardian fired him over a sarcastic tweet about US aid to Israel, even though he deleted it and agreed to never bring up the issue in hopes of keeping the job. “The moment I irritated defenders of Israel on social media, I was summarily fired from my job as a newspaper columnist,” Robinson wrote on Wednesday in Current Affairs, the magazine he edits … “You say the wrong thing, you lose your position. No second chances. You will be tarred as an anti-Semite and your job will disappear overnight.”

How the Media Cracks Down on Critics of Israel
Nathan J. Robinson - Current Affairs
It is widely recognized that critics of Israel, no matter how well-founded the criticism, are routinely punished by both public and private institutions for their speech. … The effort to keep critics of Israel quiet sometimes takes the form of explicit government action … The moment I irritated defenders of Israel on social media, I was summarily fired from my job as a newspaper columnist There is no “three strikes” policy when it comes to criticism of Israel, no matter how justified the criticism, and no matter how far it falls from actual anti-Semitism. It did not matter that I swiftly deleted my words. You cross the line, you’re gone … I have noticed that a lot of people who are ostensibly pro-free speech have little to say when critics of Israel are met with professional consequences.

Another Zionist Joins the Biden Team
Philip Giraldi
It does not require any particularly perspicacity to realize that the President Joe Biden Administration has been loaded with Zionists who not only believe in their own vision for Greater Israel but also in some cases have strong and enduring ties to the Israeli government itself. The new Secretary of State Tony Blinken comes from an American Jewish family that has well established ties to Israel … If [President George] Washington were to see the foreign policy ruined by the Israel-centric federal government that has prevailed since the time of Ronald Reagan he would surely be at a loss to understand how that could possibly have developed … We Americans are, at our peril, never allowed to challenge the extent of someone’s devotion to a foreign country if that country just happens to be Israel.

How 'The Sound of Music' Distorts History
Mark Weber
“The Sound of Music” is perhaps the most popular American musical picture ever produced. But whatever its merits as entertainment, the film’s presentation of history is deceitful. In particular, its portrayal of the 1938 union or Anschluss of Austria with the German Reich is a gross distortion of historical reality.

The Iranian nuclear scientist assassinated near Tehran in November was killed by a one-ton gun smuggled into Iran in pieces by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad, according to a report by The Jewish Chronicle on Wednesday. Citing intelligence sources, the British weekly said a team of more than 20 agents, including Israeli and Iranian nationals, carried out the ambush on scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh after eight months of surveillance. Reuters was not immediately able to confirm the report, which was published on the website of the London-based newspaper … The attack was carried out “by Israel alone, without American involvement” but that U.S. officials were given some form of notice beforehand.

Of Rioters, Protesters and Patriots
Patrick J. Buchanan
… When it comes to riots and revolutions, all depends on who writes the narrative of history. It is the winners. “Who controls the past controls the future: who controls the present controls the past,” said George Orwell in his novel “1984.” To the media, the long hot summer of rioting, looting and arson that followed the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis was driven by “racial justice” protests against a “systemic racism” that permeates society … About the morality and justice of the rampage of rioting in the wake of Floyd’s death, and the sole riot at the Capitol, the media are the self-anointed judges. They decide which riots are benign and which are malignant … The American media defended the Hong Kong protesters and tended to minimize, excuse or ignore its excesses and violence.

The Trump Political Show Trial
Ron Paul
The Senate trial for now twice-impeached former President Donald Trump is set to begin this week, with little doubt over the outcome. A procedural vote in the Senate on the constitutionality of “removing from office” someone who is not in office revealed that nowhere near enough Republicans were willing to join their Democrat counterparts in voting to convict … So if it is not a legitimate trial, what is it, then? Judging from the House impeachment resolution, it looks more like a banana republic “show trial” than a careful case detailing Trump’s “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

One of America’s most influential political figures recently expressed allegiance to Israel in language that’s extravagant even by the standards of rhetorical hype that often prevail today. At an important Zionist conference, Nancy Pelosi pledged: “I have said to people when they ask me if this Capitol crumbled to the ground, the one thing that would remain is our commitment to our aid … and I don’t even call it aid … our cooperation with Israel. That’s fundamental to who we are.” Pelosi, who is speaker of the US House of Representatives, was addressing the annual conference of the Israeli-American Council, Dec. 2, 2018. Together with her were two important Jewish-Zionist figures: US Senate Democratic Party leader Chuck Schumer, and Haim Saban, a billionaire Israeli-American businessman who has been a major financial backer of Democratic Party candidates.

Polish Court Orders Holocaust Scholars to Apologize for Recent Book
Jewish Journal (California)
A Polish court ruled on Tuesday that two Holocaust scholars have to apologize to the family member of Edward Malinowski for stating in their book that he aided the Nazis in killing Jews … The Warsaw District Court concluded that Polish Center of Holocaust Research Professor Barbara Engelberg and University of Ottawa Professor Jan Grabowski included inaccurate information in their book about Malinowski, the former mayor of the Malinowo village. The 2018 book, titled “Night Without End: The Fate of Jews in Selected Counties of Occupied Poland,” claims that although Malinowski helped a Jewish woman escape Nazi-occupied Poland, he also robbed her and informed the Nazis of 18 Jews who were hiding in a Walinowo forest … Jewish groups denounced the ruling.

Israel Urges Social Media Giants to Label Anti-Semitic Content
The Times of Israel
Israeli ministers and lawmakers on Wednesday presented tech giants Facebook, Google, TikTok and Twitter with proposals to beef up the fight against anti-Semitism on social media. The companies should institute policies similar to those they employ by labeling misinformation surrounding COVID-19 and the US presidential election, the ministers said. The call came in a policy paper, called “The Hate Factor,” formulated by the Strategic Affairs Ministry and Diaspora Affairs Ministry. The paper was presented to a Knesset panel in the presence of representatives of “major social media networks,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

The International Criminal Court said Friday that its jurisdiction extends to territories occupied by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war, appearing to clear the way for its chief prosecutor to open a war crimes probe into Israeli military actions. The ICC’s chief prosecutor, Fatou Bensouda, said in 2019 that there was a “reasonable basis” to open a war crimes probe into Israeli military actions in the Gaza Strip as well as Israeli settlement activity in the occupied West Bank. But she asked the court determine whether she has territorial jurisdiction before proceeding with the case … When it comes to settlements, however, experts say Israel could have a difficult time defending its actions. International law forbids the transfer of a civilian population into occupied territory.

The Injustice of the Nuremberg Trials
Mark Weber - Podcast
The Nuremberg Tribunal of 1945-46 — the most spectacular judicial enterprise in history — was meant to prove that the defeated German regime had been one of unique and monstrous deceit, rapaciousness and evil. But in fact the Tribunal dispensed not justice, but injustice. The four Allied powers that organized and ran it were themselves guilty of some of the very same crimes they accused the German defendants of having committed. The Tribunal operated on the basis of “ex post facto” law created after the fact expressly for the occasion, and which the Allies applied only to the defeated. The hangings of German leaders ordered by the Tribunal were little more than murders glossed over with a veneer of makeshift, hypocritical pseudo-legality.

German prosecutors have charged a former secretary at a Nazi concentration camp with complicity in the murders of 10,000 people, in the first such case in recent years against a woman. The 95-year-old accused had worked at the Stutthof camp near what was Danzig, now Gdansk … The suspect “is accused of having assisted those responsible at the camp in the systematic killing of Jewish prisoners, Polish partisans and Soviet Russian prisoners of war in her function as a stenographer and secretary to the camp commander” between June 1943 and April 1945, the prosecutors said in a statement. The woman, who was a minor at the time of the alleged crimes, is charged with “aiding and abetting murder in more than 10,000 cases” as well as complicity in attempted murder, added prosecutors …

A 100-year-old former concentration camp guard has been charged with complicity in 3,518 murders as Germany races to bring surviving Nazi staff to justice, prosecutors told AFP on Monday. The man stands accused of “knowingly and willingly” assisting in the murder of prisoners at the Sachsenhausen camp in Oranienburg, north of Berlin, between 1942 and 1945. He is considered fit to stand trial despite his age, the public prosecutor’s office in the town of Neuruppin confirmed after the story was reported by the NDR broadcaster. The case comes days after German prosecutors charged a former secretary at a Nazi concentration camp with complicity in the murders of 10,000 people, in the first such case in recent years against a woman.

The Decline and Fall of the American Empire
Medea Benjamin and Nicholas J. S. Davies
… So post-World War Two Americans grew up in carefully crafted ignorance of the very fact of American empire, and the myths woven to disguise it provide fertile soil for today’s political divisions and disintegration. Trump’s “Make America Great Again” and Biden’s promise to “restore American leadership” are both appeals to nostalgia for the fruits of American empire. Past blame games over who lost China or Vietnam or Cuba have come home to roost in an argument over who lost America and who can somehow restore its mythical former greatness or leadership … Neither party’s leaders are ready for a more realistic debate over how to redefine and rebuild America as a post-imperial nation in today’s multipolar world.

Ideological Imperialism Is Leading to a Bad End
Patrick J. Buchanan
… When it comes to interfering in the affairs of other nations, how sinless, how blameless, are we Americans? During the Cold War, the United States regularly dumped over regimes we believed imperiled our cause … Liberal interventionists still talk of our “universal values” that represent the future toward which all nations should aspire. Among these are the values of democracy as practiced in the United States. These are the standards by which other nations are to be judged. And nations that do not conform to these standards are candidates for U.S. interference in their affairs. Ours is an ideological imperialism of a rare order. Where did we Americans acquire the right to intervene in the internal affairs of nations — be they autocracies, monarchies or republics — that do not threaten or attack us?

Israel Cracks the Whip
Philip Giraldi
… There is no limit to Israeli hubris. A leading Rabbi in Israel is predicting that as the United States is in decline it is up to the Jewish state to take over the role of “guiding civilization forward.” And that kind of thinking shapes how Israel treats the United States with condescension, acting as if it is the knowledgeable elder statesman whose guidance must be respected … Israel has been involved in American politics frequently, one might even argue incessantly, even if it is predictably never held accountable … The whole issue of the U.S.-Israel relationship constitutes one of the most formidable “red lines” in American politics as part of its power comes from the fact that the media and political classes pretend that it does not even exist.

As America Declines, Will Israel Become the New Superpower?
Israel Today (Israel)
Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu, the Chief Rabbi of Safed and a member of the Israel’s Rabbinate Council, says that we are witnessing the beginning of the end of America as a superpower, thus paving the way for Israel to take its place in guiding civilization forward. “It is with great sadness that we can remember this event [storming of the US Capitol] as part of the process of America’s descent from the stage of history. It’s a sad moment, but it happens,” Rabbi Eliyahu wrote in a piece for Arutz 7. The Rabbi points out that throughout history many empires and superpowers have fallen as a result of moral crises … The Rabbi believes the time has come for Israel to fill the vacuum of leadership left by the failing American experiment.

A former Romanian intelligence officer was sentenced to one year and one month in prison for Holocaust denial in the first conviction under a 2002 law, a court in Bucharest confirmed to AFP Thursday. Vasile Zarnescu, 74, who worked for eleven years for Romania’s Intelligence Service (SRI), was convicted by a court in Bucharest for writing several online articles in which he described the Holocaust as a “fraud”. In 2016, he also published a book entitled: “The Holocaust, A Diabolical Hoax.” Contacted by AFP, Zarnescu said he would appeal the sentence … The law from 2002 criminalizes Holocaust denial “by any means,” with those found guilty risking between six months and three years in prison.

Journalists Mobilize Against Free Speech
A. Rosen - Tablet Magazine
… A publicly beloved press that earnestly believes in free speech now feels like it belongs to some fictive era of good feelings. These days, the American public distrusts the media more than it ever has. Confronted with this crisis of legitimacy, today’s corporate media increasingly advances ideas that would delight would-be power trippers of any party — like establishing novel forms of government control over what you can see, read, and hear and identifying people with a broad range of unpopular or unapproved views as domestic terrorists … Media skepticism toward free expression actually began long before the Capitol riot – and before Trump was elected … Today, support for the mainstream American free speech norms of earlier, less-Trump-addled times is increasingly cast as a kind of sinister eccentricity …

Murder rates saw a “historic” increase in 2020 compared to 2019, with more than 1,200 additional killings year-over-year in a sample of 34 American cities, according to a study released Monday. “The coronavirus pandemic, continuing incidents of police violence, and rising homicide and violent crime rates each pose massive policy challenges in their own right, but the interplay between them creates even more difficult decisions for policymakers,” states a report from the National Commission of COVID-19 and Criminal Justice (NCCCJ) … Homicide rates jumped by 30% from 2019 to 2020, while gun assault and aggravated assault rates climbed 8% and 6%, respectively, experts found.

The American Empire Is Falling Apart
Tom Engelhardt
… Donald Trump arrived on the scene promising to attend to the abandoned ones, the white Americans whose dreams of better lives for themselves or their children had largely been left in the dust in an ever-more-unequal country. Increasingly embittered, they were, at best, taken totally for granted by the former party of Franklin Delano Roosevelt … What other country ever had at least 800 military garrisons spread across the whole planet? … Yes, in its own distinctive fashion, the United States is going down, and will do so whether Donald Trump, Joe Biden, or Mitch McConnell is running the show.

As Joe Biden Takes Over, Washington Is in Desperate Need of a Little Foreign Policy Humility
Doug Bandow
… Yet most U.S. policymakers appear to spend most of their time mistaking dreams for reality. They routinely instruct the world how to behave. Almost always the world simply ignores America’s arrogant pretensions and proceeds on its way … President Biden would do well to reflect on the fact that the US, the world’s most powerful nation, demands much of everyone around the globe. American policymakers insist that they are entitled to decide for the entire world political arrangements, civil liberties, economic policies, foreign initiatives, territorial lines, international relations, treaty terms, development projects, and much more. Not a sparrow can fall anywhere without Washington being involved … American foreign policy is long overdue for a major overhaul.

Dutch SS Veterans Still Receiving Disability Pensions From Germany
Smye Holland News
During World War II at least 25,000 Dutch volunteered for the Waffen SS, the elite protection body of the Nazi party, later turned into a fighting force … Hitler ordered that these types of soldiers enjoy the same salary and disability pension as the Germans, and this happened. At present, at least 34 Dutch citizens continue to receive a disability pension paid by the German authorities … In the Waffen SS there were not only Dutch, who according to my calculations were between 26,000 and 27,000. The volunteers were Belgians (17,000), Estonians, Ukrainians, Finns (1,400), despite the fact that Finland was not invaded, and even Bosnian Muslims.

This 16-minutes video presentation, with English-language narration, reviews the “Battle of the Tannenberg Line” – a major World War II battle in Estonia for the strategically important Narva Isthmus. A pan-European Waffen SS force of 22,250 men, including Germans, Estonians, Danes, Norwegians, Dutch and Belgians (Flemish and Walloons), fought July 25 to August 10, 1944, against vastly larger Soviet forces. About half of the Waffen SS infantrymen were Estonians. Known in Estonia as the “Battle of the Blue Hills,” it is regarded as a tactical victory for the European forces. The greatly outnumbered and outgunned defenders suffered about 10,000 casualties, while Soviet losses were 170,000 dead, missing or wounded.

President-elect Joe Biden on Friday [Jan. 8] said Sens. Josh Hawley and Ted Cruz are part of the “big lie” about election fraud and invoked Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, but stopped short of calling on the two senators to resign. Hawley, a Missouri Republican, faces a wave of condemnation for supporting a bid to block certification of Biden’s victory in two states even after a violent mob breached the U.S. Capitol … “They’re part of the big lie,” Biden said. He soon added, “Goebbels and the great lie. You keep repeating the lie, repeating the lie.” Joseph Goebbels was a close ally of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi’s propaganda chief. The statement attributed to him is: “If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it.”

Goebbels’ Place in History
Mark Weber
The familiar and widely accepted image of Third Reich Germany’s chief publicist and spokesman is a crude caricature. Contrary to popular belief, Joseph Goebbels was successful as a propagandist not because he was a master of the “Big Lie,” but rather as a result of his fidelity to facts and truth. As historian Helmut Heiber wrote: “Goebbels was accordingly able to celebrate his information policy as being not only superior to the enemy’s in its monolithic character, but also of a `seriousness and credibility’ which `simply cannot be surpassed.’ … Seen in the long view, Goebbels preached, the best propaganda is that which does no more than serve the truth.” As French scholar Jacques Ellul noted, the postwar image of Goebbels as a master dissembler is itself a propaganda distortion.

Future of Holocaust Research in Poland Hinges on Libel Case
Associated Press
Two Polish historians are facing a libel trial for a scholarly examination of Polish behavior during World War II, a case whose outcome is expected to determine the fate of independent Holocaust research under Poland’s nationalist government. A verdict is expected in Warsaw’s district court on Feb. 9 in the case against Barbara Engelking, a historian with the Polish Center for Holocaust Research in Warsaw, and Jan Grabowski, a professor of history at the University of Ottawa. It is the first closely watched Holocaust speech case since Poland sought to pass a law in 2018 that would have criminalized the act of falsely blaming Poland for Germany’s Holocaust crimes. Those criminal penalties were dropped in favor of civil penalties after the legislation sparked a major diplomatic dispute with Israel.

Trust in traditional media has declined to an all-time low … Faith in society’s central institutions, especially in government and the media, is the glue that holds society together. That glue was visibly dissolving a decade ago, and has now, for many millions of Americans, disappeared entirely … For the first time ever, fewer than half of all Americans have trust in traditional media, according to data from Edelman’s annual trust barometer shared exclusively with Axios … 56% of Americans agree with the statement that “Journalists and reporters are purposely trying to mislead people by saying things they know are false or gross exaggerations.” 58% think that “most news organizations are more concerned with supporting an ideology or political position than with informing the public.”

Libertarian Terrorists?
Ron Paul
The Department of Homeland Security issued on Wednesday a nationwide terror alert lasting until April 30. The alert warns of potential terrorist attacks from Americans who are “ideologically motivated” and have “objections to the exercise of government authority and the presidential transition, as well as other perceived grievances fueled by false narratives.” The language used in this alert suggests that millions of Americans are potential terrorists … The ultimate goal of those pushing for a crackdown on “domestic terrorism” is to make people unwilling to even consider “radical” ideas — to make people so afraid of certain ideas that they refuse to even give those ideas a fair hearing.
-
President Joe Biden has already made it clear that legislation that will be used to combat what he refers to as “domestic terrorism” will be a top priority … Former Barack Obama CIA Chief John Brennan, who is clearly in the loop on developments, puts it this way in a tweet where he describes how the new Administration’s spooks “are moving in laser-like fashion to try to uncover as much as they can about [the] insurgency” [that includes] “religious extremists, authoritarians, fascists, bigots, racists, nativists, even libertarians.” … What makes the current state of war against “terrorism” so dangerous is that the national security apparatus has been politicized while the government has learned that labeling someone or some entity terrorist or even a “material supporter of terrorism” is infinitely elastic.

The Zionist Terror Network
Mark Weber -- Institute for Historical Review
This booklet documents the background and criminal activities of Jewish Zionist terrorist groups, and especially the Jewish Defense League, founded by Meir Kahane. Particular emphasis is given here to terror — including murder — against “thought criminals” who question the Holocaust story that six million Jews were systematically killed during the Second World War … This terror campaign culminated in a devastating arson attack on the Institute’s offices and warehouse in Torrance on July 4, 1984 — the anniversary of American independence. Damage in the attack, carried out in the early morning hours of the 4th, was estimated at $400,000.

The Blob is Addicted to Overseas Interventions
Doug Bandow - The American Conservative
Since the end of the Cold War there have been few external constraints on U.S. foreign policy. The Soviet Union’s collapse left America as the unipower. “What we say goes,” declared President George H.W. Bush. Washington’s foreign policy establishment, later termed “the Blob,” saw an opportunity to transform the world … The U.S. is far more warlike than any other nation. Washington uses the military more often than its most noted authoritarian adversaries combined: Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, Cuba, Venezuela, and any other plausible candidates … Yet what member of the Blob has been held accountable for his or her failures? … Certainly, the new president and his top aides remain undisturbed, despite sharing responsibility for every conflict in which America remains ensnared.

What Comes After Trump – World War III?
Federico Pieraccini
… Washington continues its inexorable decline relative to other powers as a result of the new multipolar reality, which evens out the distribution of geopolitical weight over a wider area of the global chessboard. We must hope, for the sake of humanity, that Washington’s decline will accelerate to such an extent under the Trump presidency that the US will be forced to focus instead on its own internal problems … If you think I am exaggerating, try reflecting on the fact that Washington has been at war almost every year since World War II, conducting clandestine operations in more than 50 countries and killing millions of civilians directly and indirectly, all the while having the world believe it is a blameless force for good on the side of truth and justice.

… The Holocaust discourse in its current form contains numerous essential religious elements. It has priests and prophets. It has commandments and dogmas (e.g. ‘Never Again’) and rituals (memorial days, pilgrimage to Auschwitz, etc.). It has an established, esoteric symbolic order (good, evil, death, liberation). It also has a temple, Yad Vashem, and shrines – Holocaust museums in capital cities worldwide. The Holocaust religion is also maintained by a massive global financial network, what Norman Finkelstein terms the ‘Holocaust industry’. This new religion is coherent enough to define its ‘antichrists’ (i.e. Holocaust deniers), and powerful enough to persecute them (through Holocaust-denial and hate-speech laws) … The holocaust religion adheres to the primacy of one people.
